Ms. Wilson is originally from Bosnia, but has lived in Louisville over 18 years. She got her BS at the University of Louisville in Exercise Science and her MEd in School Counseling. She has worked at Westport since 2013. Ms. Wilson is married and has a two-year-old daughter. Here at Westport, she works with students who have mental health needs.
Data Management Research Technician and Building Assessment Coordinator
Ms. Estep is originally from Michigan and has lived in Louisville for the last 10 years. She is married with 3 boys. They are ages 13, 16 and 17. This is her second year at Westport. She enjoys spending time in the pool, golfing, and playing strategy board games with her husband and children. She also loves college football and basketball---Go Blue and Go Cards!!!

Ms. Schanz graduated from the University of Wisconsin -- Oshkosh in 1992 with a B.S.E. and Indiana University South with a M.A. in Education. She began her teaching career 19 years ago. Lisa is married with four children, all graduates of JCPS -- DuPont Manual, YPAS, Ballard and Male. She has two chocolate labs, Lambeau (yes, she's a Packers fan!!) and Remington.
Colleen Leitner, PhD

Dr. Leitner attended University of Kentucky for her undergraduate degree and received her M.A.T. at Bellarmine University. She taught at Doss High School for five years. She earned a PhD in Immunology at University of Louisville. She is married to Ty Leitner, an English teacher at Western High School, and has a 2-year-old daughter named Hazel.

Ms. Gnau has been teaching since 2007. She received a B.A. in Psychology from Vanderbilt University in 2005. She then spent a year in Madrid, Spain, teaching English as a Second Language. She earned an M.A.T. from Bellarmine University in Learning and Behavior Disorders and Elementary Education. Alice is married to Brian and has a 2-year-old son named Joey.
Ms. Lyons comes to Westport after serving as the librarian for McLean County and is excited to help Westport transition into their new space that is specialized to engage middle school students. Ms. Lyons has earned degrees from the University of Florida, Brescia University, and Western Kentucky University, and is a Google Certified Educator. The library will become a hub of activity with access to books, resources, technology, and a new makerspace lab!
Family Resource Youth School Coordinator (FRYSC)
Mr. Carter is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with degrees in Criminal Justice/Juvenile Services. He began his career in juvenile probation monitoring young people as they went through the court process. After six years, he decided he wanted to try and bring more change to the lives of young people. He came to Westport Middle School in 2002 as the Coordinator of the Youth Services Center. Instantly he felt that this was a position that was created for his interests and skill set. In 2001 he married Robin Carter. They have three children who take up most of their time.
As coordinator of the FRYSC, it is his role to break down barriers to our students' education, whatever that barrier may be.

Ms. Omdal brings much more than her Swedish wit to Westport! Ms. Omdal has previously worked for JCPS at Maryhurst, Meyzeek Middle School, and the Academy @ Shawnee, which allows her to brings a wealth of experience supporting administrators, teachers, and students to Westport.
Response To Intervention Resource Teacher
Elizabeth Canale has been teaching since 2010. In 2009 she graduated from the University of Louisville with a B.A. in English, and in 2010 she went on to earn an M.A.T. from the same university. In 2015, she became a National Board Certified Teacher in English and Language Arts for grades 6-12. Elizabeth's husband, Shane, is a high school math teacher. They enjoy spending their free time with their one-year-old son, Henry.
Theophilus Bellamy, CAA
Mr. Bellamy is originally from Louisville. He attended Male High School, Eastern Kentucky University for his undergrad, and Indiana University for graduate school. He has been married for 16 years. He has five kids and a dog. He is also one of five children and has a twin brother. He's a Dallas Cowboys and University of Louisville fan.
Caleb West Behavior Coach Mr. West has recently transitioned from his role as a special education teacher at Westport to becoming our behavior coach. Mr. West has degrees from the University of Louisville and the University of the Cumberlands. Mr. West's role as a behavior coach is to support our students and staff as they navigate our school-wide expectations and district code of conduct. Mr. West is integral in Westport's implementation of Positive Behavior and Intervention Systems (PBIS) work.
Special Education Consulting Teacher
Mr. Pickard supports all special education students and teachers. Mr. Pickard serves as a resource for parents going through the special education identification or renewal process, makes sure our students receive the services required, and coaches our teachers to make sure they are using strategies that reach all learners no matter their needs.
